Social Sounds Terms & Conditions

  1. The promoter is Mole Valley District Council, Pippbrook, Dorking, Surrey, RH4 1SJ (the Promoter).
  2. The title of the competition is “Social Sounds”.
  3. To enter the competition, send a link to your video, along with your social media handles to marketing@molevalley.gov.uk
  4. No purchase is necessary to enter the competition.
  5. The competition runs from 12.00 on Thursday 9 April 2020 (the Opening Date) and closes at 23.59 on 21 May 2020 (the Closing Date) inclusive.
  6. All competition entries must be received by the Promoter no later than 11.59pm on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
  7. The Promoter will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, platform, internet, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
  8. The competition is open to all UK residents over the age of 13. If you are younger than 18, a parent/legal guardian must submit your entry. To allow those under 18 to perform at the Social Sounds event, the Promoter will ask their parent/legal guardian for written permission.
  9. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
  10. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and condition
  11. All video entries will sit on the Dorking Halls website. On 22 May 2020, the public will be asked to vote online for their favourite video. The three entries with the highest number of votes will be invited to perform at Dorking Halls’ Social Sounds event (Prize). Details to be confirmed.
  12. The promoter reserves the right to disqualify entrants that send offensive, inappropriate or poor quality videos.
  13. Entrants may only submit one video each.
  14. The prize is provided by Dorking Halls (owned and operated by Mole Valley District Council).
  15. The prize is not negotiable or transferable. There is no cash alternative for the prize.
  16. The prize winners will be announced on Friday 29 May 2020 (Announcement Date).
  17. The decision of the public is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
  18. The Promoter will contact the winners personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date via email.
  19. The winner must confirm within one week of receiving their confirmation email if they would like to accept their prize. Otherwise it will be offered to the entrant with the next highest number of votes.
  20. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are unable to take up the prize.
  21. The competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
  22. The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out www.dorkinghalls.co.uk/privacy-policy/ and for the purposes of administering the competition.
  23. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
  24. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
  25. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
