Mole Valley District Council’s Deepdene Trail project invites artists to submit water colour paintings based on or inspired by the Deepdene Trail situated within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.    

Inspired by beautiful historic watercolours of Thomas Hope’s grand Deepdene estate in Dorking, Surrey, we are looking for contemporary responses in watercolour that represent Surrey’s countryside today.

Artists must be over 18 and resident in England, Wales and Scotland. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim, please see the rules and guidelines before entering.

Deadline for entry: Sunday 31st December 2017, by 5pm (GMT). 


The Deepdene Trail Prize - £250

Surrey Arts Prize - 1 year membership of Surrey Arts and a space in the Open Studios 2019.

The winning entry and selected entries from the shortlist will go forward to exhibition at Bourneside Gallery, Dorking 5 Feb – 3 Mar 2018.

Shortlisted works will be exhibited online at 5 Feb – 3 Mar 2018.
