Stoneleigh's Summer Concert features one of the most popular works in classical music, Dvorak's Symphony 9 ('From the New World'), along with Hamish MacCunn's stirring The Land of the Mountain and the Flood. The programme also includes Brian Wilshere's acclaimed percussion concerto, Zodiac, with soloist Tom Hollister. Stoneleigh's Training Orchestra is delighted to be performing Saint-Saens' Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso with the exciting young violinist, Joo Yeon Sir, along with Vaughan-Williams' Folk Song Suite.

Founded more than 70 years ago, Wimbledon-based Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra consists of two orchestras totalling more than 140 players aged 9 to 18 drawn from more than 60 different schools in London and Surrey. The orchestras rehearse weekly during term time, perform three concerts a year and undertake an annual tour to Europe.
