The Friday night concert gives LHMF chance, as ever, to include the music of its great founder conductor. Vaughan Williams's setting of the Benedicite is a tremendous show-piece and contrasts with the Gallic charm of Gounod's deliciously melodic St Cecilia Mass. There will also be the world premiere of a new song for men's voices, Rainfall, by choral composer and Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Singers, Bob Chilcott.
